heart of chan pilgrimage to taiwan

Postby Guo Gu on Fri Nov 20, 2015 2:52 am

hi all,

i'm organizing a pilgrimage trip to dharma drum mountain, taiwan in 2016. buddhahdarma magazine (now joined with lion's roar) is also promoting it as part of its auction (from 11/24 to 12/6 only): https://www.biddingforgood.com/auction/ ... =247853507

this is a great opportunity to go to taiwan, do a retreat with the head monk at ddm, and travel with other dharma brothers and sisters from different parts of the us and europe to visit taipei, taiwan. we'll visit different cultural sites as well as the pit of samsara--the famous night markets in taipei.
the auction is good because you might be able to win this trip at a discount price. if you miss out on the auction, you can always join the trip. i can hook you up with the ddm travel agent for airfare (leaving from the us, since our agent works in the us).

there's more info on our tallahassee chan center website as well: http://www.tallahasseechan.com/DDM2016pilgrimage
i'd be happy to answer any questions you may have. please help to spread the word.

be well,

hi all,

so apparently we have anonymous donors for this trip, so there is a few thousand dollars of scholarship available. we will not be able to give full scholarship but will offer partial scholarship toward airfare, since this is the largest expense. i'd say several hundred dollars per qualifying applicant.

if you're interested, pls visit our website (http://www.tallahasseechan.com/DDM2016pilgrimage) and download the application and send it in to the tallahassee chan center (tallahassee.chan@gmail.com). the coordinator of this trip, ruth marie, will respond to you.

I would like to thank Guo Gu for presenting this opportunity.
However, there are some of us who .. even if we had the resources to go on this pilgrimage .. do not have the time away from our responsibilities.
Still, it is very nice to hear that there is such opportunities for other who can make it on this special outing.
Thanks Guo Gu.

If you're content with my efforts next September, I'd be honoured in the future for the pilgrimage,
but it's not just my call, in needs to be a collective beneficiary.

It is a wonderful opportunity and I am grateful that it was offered generously. It is not very practible for me, but it is always good to see such kindness.

This person, avisitor, is in no way deserving of your light.

Thank you Guo Gu

Did you meet GG in Sep, or Dec, or "other-wise" ["else-when"]? "How" it was [wasn't]?
