sounds and colors...

Postby Guo Gu on Mon Sep 04, 2017 5:14 am

hello all,

can you hear the sounds of valley streams and see the colors of mountains?

trickle, trickle, drops...
rush, gush--flows without stop
red, green, orange lush
delightful!
sounds and colors
in a
dew
drop

may life's streams and mountains nourish you all...

All
inside this
world,
a metafor for what is.

This dewdrop is a rainbow

if looked at
what is and what is not,
can be seen.

Written after reading Guo Gu s great poem.

Light itself
and minor changes in light;
Sounds, and sounds within sounds,
plus the background of sounds...
these are miracles conveyed by eyes and ears
touching the world,
creating notions of Dimensions.

There are at least three more senses, besides.

This is how a World is made,
and a way into it and through it.

No, I live in Florida. There are no mountains or valleys here. :)

I used to live in this valley - the little stream that runs through it was great in the summer for cooling off - very fengshui and romantic place - but in order to avoid driving so much we moved into town, and now get our nourishment from the local supermarket.

We're starting to get a few cool days just below 100 degrees, at this time. And some real desert dryness has returned. Great star-gazing weather.

BTW, Jupiter and Saturn are bright, in the evening sky. Venus, Mars, and Mercury are in the dawn sky, before sunrise.

That accounts for ALL the planets known to the Ancients (plus Earth, underfoot), fully SIX PLANETS, easily visible to the naked-eye.

Too faint only are Uranus and Neptune, which were discovered telescopically. Pluto, a Trans-Neptunian Object (TNO), discovered telescopically in Arizona by Clyde Tombaugh in 1930, is always about 14th magnitude (on the stellar-magnitude scale), and so, like Uranus and Neptune, is also too faint for the unaided eye to detect.
