Announcing New Moderators

We're grateful and happy to announce that Alaisdair (AlaisdairGF) and Mike (MikeCC_Dharma) have joined the moderation team here at ZFI. They join our existing moderators: Carol, Gregory, Laura, Pittwedge, So-on, Nonin, Shonin and Dan74.

Alaisdair will be a local moderator in the "Lounging Around the Tea Stove" Forum, and Mike will be a local moderator in the "General Dharma Discussion" and "Zen Practice in Daily Life" Forums.

Dan is going to be stepping back from Moderation duties to work on getting our library better organized. If you have links to library materials please send them to him for posting. Also, if you see something posted in another area of ZFI that you think would be good to have a copy of in the library, please let Dan know about that too.

You can reach all moderators by sending a PM to "Local Moderators." You can reach any moderator individually by sending a PM to them by name.

:Namaste:

I agree. Such responsibility is an opportunity is use power with wisdom rather than abuse it for self-centred purposes.

The Buddha advised one is a position of responsibility should avoid four kinds of bias or prejudice (agati):

(1) Chandagati: bias due to love (such as chronism, sectarianism or nationalism).

(2) Dosagati: bias due to hate (such as racism).

(3) Biyagati: bias due to fear (such as xenophobia).

(3) Mohagati: bias due to ignorance (such asserting one understands the suttas).

Thanks for your efforts folks. It appears to be a fairly thankless job, but I really appreciate what you all do for us.

Good luck and thanks for practicing,

Thanks RTTS.

I always exhibit the four types of bias and never avoid them.
1. I have a bias due to love of the Dharma.
2. I have a bias due to hate of being fooled about my true nature.
3. I have a bias due to fear of my own faults.
4. I have a bias due to ignorance of other's faults.

Being so egotistical as I am, I hope the new moderators share my biases.
