L.,

You may find a better place to discuss other religions, as I wrote. This is not it, and you know this.

This area of the board is the Son Buddhism area, and this thread concerns that, and not other religions.

Look, i'm not trying to prove myself better than you on a personal level. I have respect for for you religion AKA horsedung, but Islam is better. Muslims have nothing to prove and they have a forbidden city or cities, so what are you doing? Are you trying to force buddhism into a system? You can't. Buddhism is about being open. They cant cooexist. Like bodhisattvas can't touch money. Got it? And i'm NOT sorry.

Peace

Lun.,

You may find another forum somewhere, or start a thread of your own making at this forum.

This present thread concerns Buddhism, and the area is Son Buddhism (Korean).

Your comments are off-topic, and out of place. Again, as you know.

Try the "Everything Else" area, perhaps, where your interests could fit better (it's easy to access at the link below):

I know Buddhism is nothing. All dharmas teach emptiness. So what am i attacking? I like buddhism, but i don't like Buddha wannabies. Because Buddhism as empty can cooexist with Islam. But don't think for one secon Buddhism is soveregin. Tao, like water goes to the lowest places. God is outside your box, he is not within your game. And stop playing martyr.

Hi lunarious,

I sincerely hope you keep strong practice in both religions. I also know next to nothing of the muslim religion and hope to learn more about it from you in a different thread. As desert said there is a place for everything...

On the main topic of this thread. For me the title is perfect and matches my view on the subject. Zen is internal and must be figured out by the practitioner with a sangha and teacher providing nudges along the way.

With a group of people religions are formed.
With a single person is there a religion?
If there are no others who can you tell it to?

When there are two trees standing side by side,
one seem taller and the other seem shorter.
If there is only 1 tree how tall is it?

Mine is..
Ours are..
I am better at..
The endless identification...

The wind cares not what you blow yet it blows and you care,
The thunder cares not what you strike yet it strikes and you care,
Just sail the boat.

A religion is the form it takes in this era (say, the past 5000 years). Practitioners are grateful for the transmission of a map -- and "key" -- to opening the territory of Wisdom.

Sail with it, yes, and give the boat (vehicle) a push if one can, and open some seats for those interested.

When a loyal person to Allah bows to him alone, Lucifer says wowe to me. I refused to bow to Allahs command and that human (unenlightened) does so alone. I've failed to tempt him and my cause in spreading vice is lost. Additionally i will get punished. Indeed i've lost.

What do you mean desert woodworker?

But Buddhism is about a sangha.

No problem.

My post was a reply to the post before mine by the member "babybuddha". You can read my reply above with that in mind and understand it that way.

And indeed, I too, like you, think that a sangha is crucially helpful to a person's potential awakening through correct Buddhist practice, guided by a skilled teacher.

I don't know what enlightement is. Like the author of Zen mind beginners mind says; "I don't think enlightenment and particularly satory is what should be emphasized". He was Suzuki, he said this when they compared him to the other suzuki in the western world. The other suzuki emphasized satory and "magic". But then satory or enlightenment is unimportant. I think it is counterproductive to get enlightened. The Quran says don't hasten to "multiply" for indeed you shall know, nay indeed you shall know. We have to trust God and Buddha and the Bodhisattvas.

I didn't understand what you said litterally. I knew you were talking to babybuddha. I have nothing undone with you if thats what you are saying.
