Khenpo Tamgrin Rinpoche:

The time in meditation or out of it should not be too long, which is more emphasized in Dzogchen practice: the period should be short, and the times of it should be a lot, getting out of meditation, then, being into meditation shortly again. Practice in this way repeatedly, and gradually you will be able to join them together. In summary, the way we meditate are like this: short period, many times, finally the periods can be joined together, which will makeSamadhiarise successfully. Otherwise we will run into troubles easily. At present, why do many people fail to meditate with little merits? This is the point.
