the merry-go-round

Postby Guo Gu on Sat Dec 12, 2015 4:01 am

question: what makes the merry-go-round spin?

comment:

when you get on the round-n-round
what comes around goes around
if you wish to get off it
it never ends, always seems to begin
this round-n-round
on and off, on and off
this way can never resolve
the merry-go-round.

will you get on or off?

Why make on and off.
Enjoy the air hitting your face and the children's laughter.

Picking and choosing! Feel the wind on your face, hear the children's laughter, and experience the sadness when the storm surge comes in and washes the carousel out to sea. It's Sunday morning. At first glance it looks like ... ?

A wise old Hobbit applies the carousel bearings' greases.
Catch a glimpse of him when the whirling ceases!

As it is now, there is no choice to get on or off
We just ride the current of the momentum that carries us forward
When we sit and can see the motions of spin .. stop, we can make the choice to step off
But, we never leave it completely cause it is the familiar that we have all known for so long

Can not carry the metaphor beyond it's boundary and expect it to survive the rigors of it's limitations
To sleep, perchance to dream, to wash away in the sea of limitless possibilities

"Neither happy nor unhappy" is a good state.

"Neither friendly nor unfriendly" is a good personality.

"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". Or Joe a dull man. Or Jessica a dull woman!

But, no. I never figured you for "dull". :lol2:

I think you're naturally looking forward more to sesshin than to Christmas. Is that "it"?

So be "it". :)

:Namaste:,

best,

and, Cheers!,
