My teacher taught on the non-controversial theme, regarding karma, that karma can be of three or four types, really:

-- Personal
-- Cultural
-- National
-- Planetary

I think that Yasutani Roshi was caught up in all three or four, around the time when The Master Race was warring with The Chosen People, and with all the World.

(many others of us are caught up in all three, or four, or more, also).

Although Hakuun Yasutani was well known for his nationalist rightist views during and before the war this quote lacks proper sourcing (other than the tag-line of some wacky sounding group) and so is useless for a discussion of Yasutani. It is worth noting that his post-war American Jewish students reported "no trace" of anti-Semitism.

What then is the reason for this posting? To re-open the debate on Brian Victoria? To express support for anti-Semitic ravings?

What do you mean by master race? 'The Chosen People' warring with the Aryan people and with all over the world seems to be the correct narrative.

Yes, it's what the Nazis called their presumed "race".

'The Chosen People' warring with the Aryan people and with all over the world seems to be the correct narrative.

Maybe vice-versa, but yes, that's also true (it does indeed occasionally happen that more than two will "Tango"). A time of global insanity (and rather like the present). Although "everything changes", sometimes they don't change for very long.

Just to be clear: We all don't accept the insane Nazi narrative as being in any way true, right?

No, that is a lie. Nazis never revered themselves as the master race. The word "Aryan" is actually a Sanskrit Term meaning Noble. The NSDAP even got the swastika from eastern philosophy. The National Socialist Party envisioned a supreme, noble society that would push the human race to the pinnacle, and far from the degeneracy you see in today's society. In fact, the NSDAP never referred themselves as Nazi either, but that's a whole another story.

Aryan means someone who is noble in Sanskrit, as it's written in the sutras. The Four Noble Truths (Sanskrit: catvāri āryasatyāni).

In this Prajnaparamita Sutra, you can hear the vocalist say "Arya" as she is says "Honor to the sublime, noble perfection of wisdom!" within the first 25 seconds of this video.

Germany also had an expedition in Tibet in the late 1930s to learn more about the eastern way of life. I don't know where the idea that they were against the whole world came from.

What a very interesting spin. Either naive or dis-informative, or both.

Conventional wisdom has it that the claimed expedition was a hunting-trip to hope to acquire info and artifacts to "prove" that their putative "Master Race" could trace its descent to the actual Arayans you speak of (thus however inadvertently instead proving their actual insecurity, and moral baselessness -- and, some also explicitly add "inferiority", but I think that can be just silently understood).

Blood-type evidence and genetic testing since the time of their travels further shows that their program was all hare-brained hooey and (Hitlerian) hokum.

But, if not, then, Mahatma Mohandas Gandhi should have been "one of theirs", whereas I think they thought he was "the wrong color", and could not have gotten into one of their movie theaters of the time.

Neither, err-r, could your "Bodhidharma" screen-name namesake have, for the same reason (and, they'd probably want him to wear storm-trooper boots, while he only wore sandals as an Indian Buddhist monastic).

But this is off-topic of the OP, I'll grant (whatever its topic may be... ).

As pointed out by C., there's been no taint in Yasutani's teaching. In conclusion... ,

May Hakuun Yasutani, Dai-Osho, rest in deepest samadhi.

Did you post this thread to spread Nazi ideology, OP?
Interconnectedness: it's like two sides of the same coin, except each side is everything in the universe - including the coin.
