"Zen" is a funny thing, when there are no more questions each and every flickering in the funhouse of totality is allright.
When we don't speak of Zen there's seems to be something missing, and when we do, we miss the point.

When you open your eyes in the morning,
how long does it take for you (the notion that you are) to appear bokki?

Sometimes it takes me 20 seconds, sometimes 2 minutes.
And sometimes I wake up saying immediately "what am I?"
I even practise in dreams sometimes, what a comedian I am! :lol2:

It's a good question though bokki, never let go of the inquiry

I think things are not quite modern yet, but might be modern in the future. :heya:

Nothing's ever new, recent or authentic, same old imagination echoing timeless threads together.

non arising?

The Human Route
Coming empty-handed, going empty-handed – that is human.
When you are born, where do you come from?
When you die, where do you go?
Life is like a floating cloud which appears.
Death is like a floating cloud which disappears.
The floating cloud itself originally does not exist.
Life and death, coming and going, are also like that.
But there is one thing which always remains clear.
It is pure and clear, not depending on life and death.
Then what is the one pure and clear thing?

It's worth considering. :peace:

m.?,

maaeso wrote:I have been really into the type of Zazen taught at Gyobutsuji Zen Monastery in America.

Is that irrelevant to what you get into, below? I'd say, "prob."

Also, are there "types" of zazen? I question that.

I think you're hung up on "places". Like "monasteries", for some God-unknown reason. It's only natural though, maybe. Until one knows better. Practice is practice, at good places. Nothing stands out. If you have a practice.

maaeso wrote:As I was reading the Heart Sutra and some other Tantra material the term "Non-Arising" kept being referenced.
Please explain this concept as you understand it.

OK: Don't mix the Heart Sutra, and Tantra, is the answer.

And don't be concerned about "non-arising". No one knows what it means until ...they know. And no two ways about it, at that time. Give yourself a break. Also, "knowing" is not what you think. Just forget about it, I'd recommend. Ask your teacher! Oh... no teacher? I see. Get one.

Until then (and afterwards),

Strong practice!,
