2016 holiday season blessings

Postby Guo Gu on Wed Dec 21, 2016 3:58 am

hello everyone,

i hope this quick note finds you all in good health and strong practice!
some words of encouragement to remind myself that i share with you all here:

see the buddha; embody the dharma; and harmonize with the sangha:
the three jewels—the bright lamp that shines throughout eternity.
uplift our character by creating a buddha-land right where we are.
be grateful and repay gratitude is the first step;
to benefit others is to benefit ourselves—this is to let go of self.
foremost is to exert our best effort,
but don’t measure ourselves or others.
don’t entertain ideas of more or less, better or worse.
kindness and compassion has no enemies;
wisdom does not give rise to vexations.
busyness trains us to use time wisely;
diligence keeps us in good health.
for the sake of sowing the countless seeds of merit for all,
why dread hardship or rebuke?
those who give selflessly are blessed;
those who do good are always happy.
experience dharma joy right now;
experience dhyāna bliss right here.
bodhisattva avalokiteśvara exists everywhere;
mañjuśrī manifests in all forms.

be well,
guo gu

You have a handsome looking avatar. I saw another chinese girl looking the same, something is special about your lips.
- Don't be thankful to be righteous. Be righteous to be thankful.
- Shia: "We are the friends/owners of proof, wherever it bends we bend."
- Imam Hussein was once asked: what is affluence? He said : Decreasing your wishes , and being satisfied with what is enough for you.”

Wonderful.

As we warm up for new resolution, each new day, a new year. We find holyday and work-day are dependent on our inner state. Dharma is an attitude, pose or rather repose.

Happy new year, everyone, and many blessings.

I like calendars, always have. From bamboo to plastic to linen and paper, vintage and modern. All kinds. And if I had a choice in the matter, I would take calenders over what people have been saying about 2016, as if the year itself could actually be responsible for anything. Theres such a willingness to want to take in negativity and then spin it into even more negativity. Is that really what happens when people smell coffee? The Misfits reunited in 2016 and this year is their 40th anniversay! Wouldnt it be great if they were asked to perform alongside the Mormon Tabernacle Choir at the inauguration?
