I don't know friend,
'better" is a relative term, what may be perceived as better for one, is worse for another.

A Bodhisattva vows to "save all sentient beings" but some of those beings would say to enslave sentient beings would be a better world for them. So it depends on who you're asking.

It's already a better place, ...away from the places where it is worse.

But it's always been so.

It's just that homo sapiens has such an amount of power, influence, and ability to mess things up, now.

Previously, only volcanoes and asteroids (etc.) "messed things up".

But, "who" is to say what a "mess" is?

It's relative, cousin!

The 3 poisons arise endlessly, mix that with our current technology and it kind of speeds up the process indeed.
Nature will serve as the great harmonizer then too, and its back to sticks and stones.

I specifically upgraded to a 4G phone in order to utilize the convenience of Uber or Lyft if and when needed-
I thought I would need one of these this morning but due to the phone experiencing a glitch, neither convenience could be utilized-
My husband has been in the software industry for over 25 years, I trust his assessment that software is no longer designed to work,
but designed to provide services and applications at a rate faster than they can be created properly prior to their release which
in turn creates frustration for the user and the tech who is clueless when it comes to resolving the problem-

Somewhere in the mix, I'm certain this business practice makes things better .. :)

But, unfortunately, the customer, more often nowadays than previously, gets to do the beta-testing after the public software- release!

If car-makers did that, there'd be a lot of deaths, and a lot of recalls. Oh, wait: I think there ARE a lot of recalls. :tongueincheek:

p.s. finally needed the big 288-volt hybrid battery changed a week ago with a new one, at the dealership. $3k. :)

With most products I wait for years to get the new version, the bugs are out and it's much cheaper.
Windows XP is still the best OS, currently I'm on windows 7,
but I have played with the latest versions because I build pc's for people sometimes.
I play with it but I tend to pick older versions for personal use. It's a personal computer afterall.

But they don't build bug free things anymore, a sign of the times.

In September, my cousin tried reefer for the very first time
Now he's doing horse, it's June, unh

In September, my cousin bought a Galaxy S8
Now he has a Galaxy 9, it's June, unh

When a lithium battery explodes
and everybody still wants to try
oh why? :lol2:

ps Dutch scientists (best of the world are in Delft) are working hard on a "better" battery which will replace Lithium batteries and can store way more energy (something about shooting neurones in lithium to find more space or something)

But this is way more interesting and already being sold (I guess to businesses for the article says 2020 in our homes)
Batteries on sea salt,

The guy behind this (Marnix ten Kortenaar) used to be a pro speed skater who we saw competing on tv back in the days.
