A drunk in the mirror

I have good ideas
and bad ones
But never has there
been a right idea
About myself
That’s what’s wrong!

In complete openness
observing without categories
perception sober and purified
we can trust ourselfs
as one with Universal functioning

Another log on the fire,
10,000 frogs singing in the rain
burst into flames
Not last night,
not this morning;
Melon flowers bloomed.

Originally there is no world
I have read somewhere
but those who assert it
and those who deny it
are like tiny insects
fluttering around the light
they already are

the moth is the flame
the flame is the moth
the moth is without flame
and out of no flame
the moth manifests

in this pristine recognition
all conceptual designations
as "samsara" and "nirvana"
"together" and "seperate"
are cut into emptiness
with a single stroke

Now I could say something
Or I could keep my mouth shut
but it's the same difference
beyond light and dark
She Shines
and in light and dark too

wearing no robe
quoting no scripture
unseen by most eyes
she appears to all who pay attention

at the Heart of emptiness
beyond notions of permanence and impermanence
or speech and silence
She has but one message
"always"

I wish all are graced
to meet such a being
each place and each thing is sacred
so why do you miss it?

The light which constitutes your very being
is that which is asking
"who am I?"

Don't fish for an answer
don't be disturbed by those worms
crawling through your brain
flying through the sky of mind

to do or not to do
to know or not to know
does not apply
when nothing applies
true nature emerges.

Give up the fear of burning
in the end all moths will be consumed by fire
but if you burn right now
while you still have those wings
beyond fuel and fire
not even ashes you'll find.

Only this.

(written on the music of Metallica's "moth into flame" inspirited through Sir Bob and Dudjom Rinpoche)

A song to my Brother.

Everything comes from the Heart
and nothing comes from the mind
all that is from the mind
is distasteful, discardable

but if heart is open
it will purify mind
and all that I do or say
is all that you do and say

some might say - "love!"
but there are not two
to say "yes" or "no"
not even a One

Suddenly two mouths move
and we rejoice, write songs, compose poems
about that which is not from the mouth
the kiss, the kissing, the kissed

form and function have a wedding
and we're so utterly naked
there's not a single bone
on our True Being.

Being naked is most intimate
Sat Chit Ananda.

shadowboxing

you seem to have beef
with the world
but do you not see
you have beef with yourself

resolve the bone you have to pick inside
then return to the world
and be the difference
having no law to keep
no law to break.
no tail to chase.

placing the world in mind
everythings murky
where right and wrong has lost its fuel
everything's clear.

give up having a position
when there's no more you
or world in mind
your functioning in the world
is beyond right and wrong

It is like the wind
it just blows
without discrimination.

.
Our Sonoran desert has five seasons; two of them are summers: A hot dry summer, and a hot, wet summer (of Monsoon).

It's almost the start of September, now. The light has changed from the blue-white light of dry summer to the more yellow light of wet summer. Mornings before sunrise in wet summer feature a blushed, light-red sky, rather than the dry summer's blue. This humid pink-sky brightening-twilight lights the landscape of mountains and valleys (and city) pink, too.

Thus, this haiku easily finds words.

    Clear Empty Space

    Pink sky and mountains;
    late summer desert morning:
    White sun yet to rise.
