:)

Too many slaves in this world
Die by torture and pain
Too many people do not see
They're killing themselves, going insane

Too many people do not know
Bondage is over the human race
They believe slaves always lose
And this fear keeps them down

Watch the damned (God bless ya)
They're gonna break their chains (Hey)
No, you can't stop them (God bless ya)
They're coming to get you
And then you'll get your

Balls to the wall, man
Balls to the wall
You'll get your balls to the wall, man
Balls to the wall, balls to the wall

You may screw their brains
You may sacrifice them, too
You may mortify their flesh
You may rape them all

One day the tortured stand up
And revolt against the evil
They make you drink your blood
And tear yourself to pieces

You better watch the damned (God bless ya)
They're gonna break their chains (Hey)
No, you can't stop them (God bless ya)
They're coming to get you
And then you'll get your

Balls to the wall, man
Balls to the wall
You'll get your balls to the wall, man
Balls to the wall, balls to the wall

Come on man, let's stand up all over the world
Let's plug a bomb in everyone's arse
If they don't keep us alive, we're gonna fight for the right

Build a wall with the bodies of the dead, and you're saved
Make the world scared, come on, show me the sign of victory
Sign of victory, sign of victory

You better watch the damned (God bless ya)
They're gonna break their chains (Hey)
No, you can't stop them (God bless ya)
They're coming to get you
And then you'll get your
M
Balls to the wall, man
Balls to the wall
Everyone for President!

Now that there does not seem to be a moderator active anymore, perhaps this is an appropriate song.

One of my favorite lyricists, guitarists, and Texans (well, tied with Phil Ochs, in all three, tee-hee);
Stephen Stills, then of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (1970). With his/ their wonderful hit, "4 and 20".

A sad song?, ...but, equally, deep.

--Joe

4 + 20

by Stephen Stills

Four and twenty years ago, I come into this life,
The son of a woman and a man who lived in strife.
He was tired of being poor and he wasn't into selling door to door
And he worked like the devil to be more.

A different kind of poverty now upsets my soul.
Night after sleepless night,
I walk the floor and I want to know, why am I so alone?
Where is my woman, can I bring her home?
Have I driven her away? Is she gone?

Morning comes the sunrise, and I'm driven to my bed.
I see that it is empty and there's devils in my head.
I embrace the many-colored beast.
I grow weary of the torment, can there be no peace?
And I find myself just wishing that my life would simply cease.

On reviewing my 20 years and more admiration and gratitude to Hope Sandoval, and her group "Mazzy Star" (and her subsequent fine bands), I wanted to post this great original early track.

Some have said, that, upon hearing Hope's voice, they have become sure that "there is a God". Or, her voice is extra-planetary.

(this is, by the way, just the same laudatory recommendation that a different industry-professional said when she first saw the astonishingly natural fashion model, Ms. Laetitia Casta, the same length of time ago, also: she was sure there was 'a God').

By the way, pointy-eared listeners, is there some influence -- and even some homage -- to the ways and style and acoustic of the band, "The Jesus and Mary Chain", here? Oh, yes, I'd say. Hugh betcha.

Hope Sandoval has 150 other great tracks. This is just a completist's proof-photo. Don't stop here! Many more to explore.

"Free"

-- by Mazzy Star

I fell asleep in the silence
Before the street fights the fire

Free in the world that you've given
Lay in the sound
The water still calls
Still calls

Afraid of the dark that surrounds me
Hide in the dirt of the ground
Free in the wind that surrounds me
I'm not afraid to sleep in the night
Not afraid
To sleep in the night

Free like a bird of the holders
Holding the wake of the sun
I know the road that you send me
I know the way it leads to home

Real like the bones in my body
Real like the flesh that covers the grave
It's real
Like the flesh
That covers
The grave

Wait for the guards that you send me
Before I'll show myself
Wait for the storm
That comes to me
Maybe I'll just change my mind

Plea for the will of forgiveness
I'm not afraid to say I was wrong
I was wrong
...Maybe I won't?
So long
So long.

Here's somethin' to put your feet up on... . :)

Stephen Stills, with his hit, after he went solo, his track "Black Queen".

Yes, so?, well?, what about it?, ...

...he was taking-on Tequila like a sinking-ship is taking-on water, here, then.

"Drunk as a skunk", some say.

Yes, these things sometimes happen. And so here's a thing that did (happen)... .

The famous session was footed or funded by José Cuervo Tequila; Stephen put the company resources to personal use in several ways, then.

Yet, he's still articulate in every way -- fingers, voice, key, and timing -- ...the feller, after all that 'influence' (a full bottle, as prevalent scuttle-butt would have it).

I think this video is up here earlier, too, but just re-visiting and re-viewing, after the ZFI reset.

Save appreciative applause to the end, maybe, but, y'know, it's allowed at any point, at your place. You be the Judge, y'onor.

Stephen Stills encore ...

Here's that guy again from the YouTube seen in a previous post, reprising an acoustic version of "Bluebird". Like I said before, he tries!

Lennon's wonderful "I Found Out"!

Knew him, and from time to time saw him, in Central Park, near his and Yoko's home in The Dakota (Apartment Building) -- I left him alone, there, a number of times. I was riding my 10-speed bike through the park, and saw him sitting or walking near his abode, there.

I never approached him; never asked for any autograph: Astonishing 'stars' deserve freedom and privacy. Yet, I admit I "gawked", on my two wheels, as I passed. And flashed peace-signs. Love!, John!

Here's John's famous track against supposed guru supremacy, etc. Hard stuff, and good. Steel yourself... .

Of course, this has nothing to do with Zen Buddhist teachers. He knew none, nor was influenced by any. Alas... .

Well, I could say maybe I personally regret that I never imposed on John for an autograph, or sumpthin'. Handshake would have been memorable, too, but no... . I gave him free range, in our favorite park. New York City is for all of us, and the Park is for whatever one wants it for: Even near Strawberry Fields.

"Pluckah! (plucker)."

Nope. He didn't pick a single note, all fingerstyle (cf. Derek Trucks, Jeff Beck, etc.).

But kinda you to say!
