You're Window Shoppin'
Just Window Shoppin'
You're only lookin' around
You're not buyin'
You're just tryin'
To find the best deal in town.

You give away your kisses
But you never give your heart
To anyone who's fool enough to fall ...
You don't feel love
You don't want real love
You're Window Shoppin' that's all.

Yes, these fellows are junkies, but they are honoring here a song by my brother Lou Reed, ...also known to have dabbled. ;)

This is Spacemen 3, with their song, "Ode to Street Hassle" (1987):

Ode To 'Street Hassle'

Well, I've been some far out places
I've read the writing on the wall
But today I walk with Jesus, and together
Together, we walk tall

And as we sat there talking, Jesus turned to say to me
"You'd better learn to love this life, 'cause there's things
There's things that are hard to see,"
And as I sat there thinking, once again he turned to me
He said, "I've given you temptation, but these things, these things have got to be".

So I just sat and listened to what Jesus said to me
'Cause sometimes you've gotta listen if there's things
If there's things you just can't see.
While we were out walking once again he turned to me
As I looked into his eyes - his thoughts, his thoughts just came to me.

Well some people never listen, some people just won't see
But I can see and hear these things
These things have got to be.

Yeah, this must be heard at a 'good' volume, or good, say, rather loud (LOUD... ) sound-intensity, let's say, honestly, and scientifically.

There are certain (guessing... ) ancient and modern brain structures that require it, in order to register properly what's really there. Try it 'both' ways, and you'll probably be convinced, ...one way or another. ;)

See what you can do, within limits of how the neighbors -- or family -- will respond (YOU know them better than I ever could).

Or, if you have headphones, well, let 'er rip, then. Be mindful of possible resultant deafness, though. Fair warning... . "Easy"... .

Yow-ga.

Here you have it, Campers.

A toss-up, in my mind, about which is the best song ever, by the best group ever, in the USA. Mountain, certainly. But, this song, or, the next one? Not that The Grateful Dead was ever bad, really, pardon... .

Better than Chuck Berry? The Beach Boys? The Eagles? Guns N' Roses? Buddy Holly? Little Richard? Bob Dylan (Highway 61 Revisited)? Jefferson Airplane? Janis Joplin? Bonnie Rait? Creedence Clearwater?

Best in your mind, oh Awakened One, but by what other measure? Easily more influential, successful, critically acclaimed, maybe according to the UK Telegraph are: CSNY, The Doors, R.E.M., Nirvana, Metallica, Bruce Springsteen, The Ramones, Tom Petty, Aerosmith, The Band (kinda Canadian, though). And: the greatest of the greatest, period--Jimi Hendrix.

Sorry, imo you are travelling in the dark with your head up your Mazzy Star.

i just remembered
LOLOL
WILD CHERRY
play that funky music white boy, keep ur socks on
LOL
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l70_stPTuok

Hey do it now yeah hey

Yeah, I was a funky singer
Playin' in a rock and roll band
And never had no problems yeah
Burnin' down D one night stands
And everything around me, yeah
Got to stop to feelin' so low
And I decided quickly, yes I did
To disco down and check out the show
Yeah they was

Dancin' and singin' and movin' to the groovin'
And just when it hit me somebody turned around and shouted
Play that funky music white boy
Play that funky music right
Play that funky music white boy
Lay down that boogie and play that funky music till you die
Till you die, oh till you die

I tried to understand this
I thought that they were out of their minds
How could I be so foolish (How could I)
To not see I was the one behind
So still I kept on fighting
Well, loosing every step of the way
I said, I must go back there (I got to go back)
And check to see if things still the same
Yeah they was dancin' and singin' and movin' to the groovin'
And just when it hit me somebody turned around and shouted
Play that funky music white boy
Play that funky music right
Play that funky music white boy
Lay down the boogie and play that funky music till you die
Till you die, ya
Till you die

Now first it wasn't easy
Changin' Rock and Roll and minds and things were getting shaky
I thought I'd have to leave it behind
But now its so much better (it's so much better)
I'm funking out in every way
But I'll never lose that feelin' (no I won't)
Of how I learned my lesson that day
When they were dancin' and singin' and movin' to the groovin'
And just when it hit me somebody turned around and shouted
Play that funky music white boy
Play that funky music right
Play that funky music white boy
Lay down the boogie and play that funky music till you die
Till you die
Oh' till you die

They shouted play that funky music
(Play that funky music)
Play that funky music
(You Gotta keep on playin' funky music)
Play that funky music
(Play that funky music)
Play that funky music
(Come and take you higher, ya)
Play that funky music white boy
Play that funky music right, ya
Play that funky music white boy
Play that funky music right
Play that funky music white boy
Play that funky music right

Well if no one includes Slayer appearing to be (one of) the best US band(s) ever, I will. :PP:

Slayer - Americon.
