The USA Administration may change some aspects of immigration policy, and visa policy.

There is a move afoot to increase the number of H2 and H1 visas.

Here is a song from the singer Mutabaruka, from 1989, "H2 Worker" (actually entitled "H2 Worka").

Complain though the H2 workers do, they are nonetheless able to find work sometimes in USA when visas are granted. This song and its lyrics are "dated" ("old... " ) but the subject is perennial. And, it's in the News! (if not yet, then SOON, again, as the administration tries to accomplish something at all after failing with Medical Insurance. But, sure, there's increasing the Debt Ceiling, and the Budget, as we approach the end of the Fiscal Year here; there are 24 working-days left in order for Congress to do a few things, after their return to Wash., D.C. in Sept.).
Strange days in USA (and the World?). :Namaste:

-- "H2 Worka" --

by: Mutabaruka (1989, Shenachie Records)

I am a H2 worka
Comin' from de island of Jamaica
I am a H2 worka
Cuttin' cane inna Florida
Workin' suh hard in de burnin' sun
Wonderin' if slavery really dun
I'm workin.. workin'
Workin' on yuh cane field still
Workin', workin'
Workin' for yuh meager dolla bill
Suh don't bite de hands dat feed yuh
I have dreams like you to
Don't treat mi like I'm a slave here
Jus' ghey mi a wage dat is fare

I am a H2 worka
Pickin' apple inna Florida
I am a H2 worka
Hopin' dat tings will be betta
Suh don't teck mi fi granted and pass mi
Like is only yuh cane and apple yuh si
Don't teck it fi joke an' run mi
Den sen to mi govament fi more a wi
Dis is not slavery, jus' poverty
Talkin' to democracy

Betta yuh did sen mi to war
Den a woulda si at a fitin' for
Jus' de needy, talkin' to de greedy
Jus' de goodness, of de restless
Wantin' to make a betta life
For mi children and wife

Suh a com to yuh lan to help yuh
To help mi, to help wi
Dis is not slavery, jus' poverty
Wantin' democracy

Suh don't bite de hands dat feed yuh
I have dreams like you to
Don't teck mi situation fi weakness
Don't even tink dat I am helpless
A gettin' restless
Workin' on yuh cane field still..

I'm workin', workin'
Workin' on yuh cane field still.

Show Me How to Live
Audioslave

uhm mmm mmm
And with the early dawn,
Moving right along,
I couldn't buy an eyeful of sleep.

And in the aching night under satellites
I was not received.

Built with stolen parts
A telephone in my heart
Someone get me a priest!
To put my mind to bed
This ringing in my head
Is this a cure or is this a disease?

Nail in my head
From my creator
You gave me life
Now show me how to live

Nail in my head
From my creator
You gave me life
Now show me how to live

And in the after birth
On the quiet earth
Let the stains remind you!
You thought you made a man?
You better think again
Before my role defines you.

Nail in my head
From my creator
You gave me life
Now show me how to live
Nail in my head
From my creator
You gave me life
Now show me how to live

And in your waiting hands
I will land
And roll out of my skin
And in your final hours I will stand
Ready to begin

Like a Stone
Audioslave

On a cobweb afternoon
In a room full of emptiness
By a freeway I confess
I was lost in the pages

Of a book full of death
Reading how we'll die alone
And if we're good, we'll lay to rest
Anywhere we want to go

In your house I long to be
Room by room patiently
I'll wait for you there
Like a stone
I'll wait for you there
Alone

On my deathbed I will pray
To the gods and thee angels
Like a pagan to anyone
Who will take me to heaven
To a place I recall
I was there so long ago
The sky was bruised
The wine was bled
And there you led me on

In your house I long to be
Room by room patiently
I'll wait for you there
Like a stone
I'll wait for you there
Alone
Alone

And on I read
Until the day was gone
And I sat in regret
Of all the things I've done
For all that I've blessed
And all that I've wronged
In dreams until my death
I will wander on

In your house I long to be
Room by room patiently
I'll wait for you there
Like a stone
I'll wait for you there
Alone
Alone

well, i thought 2 refer this 2 LA since its her offspring, ian anderson
but, afraid not 2 offend her with such
ill refer it 2 all

jethro tull
"song from the woods"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42iCKXR64gM

Songs from the wood...........................(woods, woods.. woods!)

Let me bring you songs from the wood
to make you feel much better than you could know.
Dust you down from tip to toe.
Show you how the garden grows.
Hold you steady as you go.
Join the chorus if you can
it'll make of you an honest man.

Let me bring you love from the field,
poppies red and roses filled with summer rain.
To heal the wound and still the pain
that threatens again and again,
as you drag down every lover's lane.
Life's long celebration's here.
I'll toast you all in penny cheer.

Let me bring you all things refined,
galliards and lute songs served in chilling ale.
Greetings well met fellow, hail!
I am the wind to fill your sail.
I am the cross to take your nail.
A singer of these ageless times.
With kitchen prose and gutter rhymes.

Songs from the wood make you feel much better.
Songs from the wood make you feel much better.

Songs from the wood --- hey!

Let me bring you love from the field,
poppies red and roses filled with summer rain.
To heal the wound and still the pain
that threatens again and again,
as you drag down every lover's lane.
Life's long celebration's here.
I'll toast you all in penny cheer.

Songs from the wood make you feel much better.
Songs from the wood make you feel much better.

Any guitar players in the audience? Say, Blues?

See here an ancestor of Jimi Hendrix (and of many others). Mr. John Lee Hooker, with his "Boom Boom Boom Boom". Playing finger-style (no pick), on the hollow-body.

See him play the pull-offs with the left hand up near the top of the neck, near the beginning. Nicely photographed!, for us pickers. See what you can do... . --Joe

Mazzy Star, with their "Lay Myself Down", of Hope Sandoval (vocals), and David Roback (guitar).

    "Lay Myself Down"

Just like that, she follows me
My wings are under her tree
She says one thing and that's just enough
    It doesn't matter how much

    Would I forget
    Laying myself down
    Just to regret
    And that's all
    Would I forget

    I'll go away
I'll never know how far, how long
She keeps a diamond inside her door
    She don't have a clue

    Would I forget
    Laying myself down
    Just to regret
    And that's all

    Would I forget
    Laying myself down
    Just to regret
    And that's all

    And that's all
    And that's all

you already have it
but you look for it
in a place which doesn't exist
apart from where it does.

if you would just not
try to place it anywhere in particular
youll discover that it's completely
right there where's it's always been
in the very nature of looking itself
in each thing complete
like this

like that

don't fret, You are.

"Warning" explicit vision thingies, for anyone who doesn't want to see blood, ppl getting killed, torture etc better not watch

You made your choice
I'll take my stand
Your life story in my blood stained hands

Pride in prejudice
Don't give me that power bullshit
Pride in prejudice
One gunshot sets the precedence

Abuse of power, civil unrest
Money in blood is of no significance
Inner rage waiting to ignite
Blood of the innocent unites

I'm right you're wrong
In number I'm strong
Violence is proof enough that I am

Pride in prejudice
Don't give me that power bullshit
Pride in prejudice
One gunshot sets the precedence
Marshall Law as militant state
Barrel of a gun seals your fate
Fire burns with media hype
Speak the truth through your own lies

Pride in prejudice
Don't give me that power bullshit
Hate and violence
One gunshot sets the precedence
Pride in prejudice
Don't give me your bullshit
Pride in prejudice
One gunshot killed the innocent

Some love to hate
Right in your face
Violence will facilitate

Fuel the fire with racial slurs
And see who kills the other first

Sundown, dazzling day,
Go through my eyes.
But my eyes turn within,
Only see,
Starless and bible black.

Old friend charity,
Cruel, twisted smile.
And the smile signals emptiness,
For me.
Starless and bible black.

Ice blue, silver sky,
Fades into gray.
To a grey hole,
That amends to be,
Starless and bible black.

Ok, I'll run, with two conditions. First, Linda at least thinks about running, too, and you as Chief of Staff and Minister of Everything pick the campaign theme song.
