The Best Music Ever

Re: The Best Music Ever

"Slayer", and co., are standing on the shoulders of giants, and everyone should recognize that, ...who considers it.

Giants like "Mountain".

What was "Slayer" doing in 1970 when Mountain was coming out with such pure rock and roll?

That's the way to look at it... . ;)

HEART
BARRACUDA

BARRACUDA

So this ain't the end, I saw you again today
Had to turn my heart away
You smiled like the Sun, kisses for everyone
And tales, it never fails!

You lying so low in the weeds
Bet you gonna ambush me
You'd have me down, down, down to my knees
Wouldn't you, Barracuda?

Back over time when we were all trying for free
Met up with porpoise and me
No right no wrong you're selling a song, a name
Whisper game

If the real thing don't do the trick
You better make up something quick
You gonna burn it out to the wick
Aren't you, Barracuda?

"Sell me sell you" the porpoise said
Dive down deep to save my head
You, I think you got the blues too.

All that night and all the next
Swam without looking back
Made for the western pools, silly fools!

LOL

Ah ok, not sure Joe I don't have an extended knowledge of rock and roll music history, my (personal) history and knowledge starts in 1975 with the new wave of british heavy metal band Iron Maiden, neighbours loved it when I discovered them at the age of 8, prior to that I had an Elvis album, some prince and some michael jackson, then I discovered metal, and it was love at first hearing. :)

thank you all, 4 a lot of good music
fuki, king crimson, yeah
"Matte Kudasai" significa "Aspetta per favore" in giapponese....LOL

KING CRIMSON
MATTE KUDASAI

Adrian Belew - vocals,guitar
Robert Fripp - guitar
Tony Levin - bass
Bill Bruford - drums

Still, by the window pane,
Pain, like the rain that's falling.
She waits in the air,
Matte Kudasai.
She sleeps in a chair
In her sad America.

When, when was the night so long,
Long, like the notes I'm sending.
She waits in the air,
Matte Kudasai.
She sleeps in a chair
In her sad America

FAT MAN
lol
"Fat Man"

Don't want to be a fat man,
people would think that I was
just good fun.
:lol2:
Would rather be a thin man,
I am so glad to go on being one.
Too much to carry around with you,
no chance of finding a woman who
will love you in the morning and all the night time too, uuhh
:lol2:

Don't want to be a fat man,
have not the patience to ignore all that.
Hate to admit to myself half of my problems
came from being fat.
Won't waste my time feeling sorry for him,
I seen the other side to being thin.
Roll us both down a mountain
and I'm sure the fat man would win...
eeuuuhhh!

Groundbreaking use of mandolin played by Ian Anderson. Flute + bongos and "rattlesnake" tambourine . . . so so cool.

Hey Porter
Ry Cooder
(i think its a j cash song)

Hey, Porter, Hey Porter! Would you tell me the time?
How much longer will it be 'til we cross that Mason Dixon Line?
At daylight would you tell the engineer to slow it down;
Or better still, just stop the train 'cause I wanna look a round!
:lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Hey, Porter! Hey Porter! What time did you say ?
How much longer will it be 'till I can see the light of day ?
When we hit Dixie would ya tell the engineer to ring his bell; :lol2:
And tell everybody that ain't asleep to stand right up and yell :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Hey, Porter! Hey, Porter! Please, go on and get my bags for me
I don't need nobody to tell me now that I'm in Tennessee :lol2:
We're not so far from home, you know, and it's a-getting light outside
This old train is a-puffin' smoke and I have to strain me my eyes

Hey Porter! Hey Porter! Please open up the door
When they stop this train I'm gonna get off quick 'cause I can't wait no more
Tell the engineer I say, "Thanks a lot. And I didn't mind the fare
I'm gonna set my feet on Southern soil, I'm gonna breathe the Southern air."
