Who are your favorite guqin players?

I like this song a lot: http://www.mediafire.com/listen/uxa1ii3 ... ity%29.mp3

This one seems good too:

I have not heard this instrument before...well in isolation and had it named...I don't care for it, and I DID listen to both tracks you posted.

I'm quite open-minded - no , I would say KEEN on hearing new stuff, but this made me feel mildly irritated :bored:

Sorry :heya:

It's okay Sparkle. I feel exactly the same way about Davie Bowie... I don't care for it. I'm quite open-minded and keen on hearing new stuff, but David Bowie's libertine shallow music makes me feel very irritated. It's a shame he had to go, but that doesn't change my opinion on his music.

How cool! The same song is the theme song of this old and beautiful animation:

On hearing and seeing the guqin played, I'm reminded of "air-tap" guitar tap playing. Erik Mongrain of Montreal is a great exponent of it.

Here is the young Mongrain in an early YouTube performance (looks like it's filmed in his Mom's kitchen, linoleum floor and all). best, --Joe

Such a beautiful animation. If you have anymore similar arthouse animations, please PM them to me. I've seen some of Frédéric Back (Man who Planted Trees) and Aleksandr Petrov (Old Man and Sea, My Love). This ranks up there with them, perhaps even more.
