Hakuin - "Poison Blossoms" new book translation

Postby Carol on Thu Apr 09, 2015 4:31 am

I treasure Norman Waddell's translation of Hakuin's Wild Ivy, so I'm really glad to hear he has translated another of Hakuin's books: Poison Blossoms from a Thicket of Thorn.

There is a book review in Tricycle: The Zen Master Is Present --"While others busied themselves with no-self, Hakuin asked what a Buddhist self might look like."
Practitioners who cultivate the personal realization of buddha knowledge dwell in the bliss of whatever is present and do not abandon their practice.
